ABOUT THE ATLAS

An object.
A way of looking.

Dodeca is an interactive atlas of the regular dodecahedron, from the exact structure of its twelve faces to the ideas people have found in it.

The model is calculated from exact golden-ratio coordinates. Its inner solids share real geometric relationships.

This is an invitation to investigate, with room for both precision and wonder.

A LITTLE ORIENTATION

Make it your own.

Rotate
Drag with one finger or your mouse. Release to coast; grab again to stop. Faster drags spin further.

Pinch, scroll, or use + / −
Forms within
Choose Solids, Planes or Lines and tap a thumbnail. Use the arrows beside the shape to explore that family. Tap the model for the next example; Solo lifts it out of the reference shell. Wire view switches between filled surfaces and edges. The large connection button reveals a related construction.
Inspect a face
Tap a face of the whole to open its pentagon. Join the corners to reveal the star.
